Darcy Bourne
Darcy Bourne is more than a close friend of our founder Katie. She is someone whose story truly deserves to be shared. A GB and England hockey player, Darcy is also the founder of Raising Her Game, a charity focused on empowering young women and creating equal opportunities in sport. Her drive to make a difference off the pitch is matched by her determination on it.
Darcy became a powerful symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, when photographer Misan Harriman captured an iconic image of her during a London protest. The photograph gained global recognition and was recently shown in the Hope 93 gallery, an exhibition that highlights resilience, unity and the continued fight for justice. Darcy’s presence in that gallery represents her voice and the voices of many who stand for change.
On the pitch, her journey is one of resilience. After a year-long knee injury, Katie witnessed the commitment, discipline and countless hours it took for Darcy to return. Her comeback has been impressive, with goals pouring in throughout the Premier League season.
As a charity founder, professional athlete and part-time student, Darcy’s days are packed with training, meetings, planning and studying. Our bag supports her through the busyness of everyday life, helping her carry everything she needs from the pitch to her work with Raising Her Game and into her studies. It is built to keep up with the pace of her world.
We are proud to share Darcy’s journey and look forward to updating you as her story continues to grow.
